Better caregiver support starts where care happens.
Muskie’s Bridge aims to work with hospitals, nursing colleges, and residency programs to make caregiver education and participation part of the care experience.
The website offers a place to begin and links to independent caregiver organizations. Muskie’s Bridge’s own educational materials and broader clinical teaching programs are still in development.

Give families a place to begin.
Share the caregiver pathway and links to independent organizations currently available on this website. Muskie’s Bridge’s own educational materials are being prepared, and the caregiver app is coming soon.
Jackie’s vision is for hospital teams to learn how to introduce Muskie’s Bridge within their own care settings, helping caregivers understand what is happening and participate in the care conversation. We welcome conversations with hospitals interested in developing this approach.
The vision also includes teaching nursing students and medical residents the BRIDGE approach through bedside education, clinical placements, and internships. We are exploring how this can become part of how future healthcare professionals learn to support caregivers.
In 2026, Muskie’s Bridge reported gathering input from S&T Bank’s caregiver support group to learn what families need from the app. At the second annual Awareness Walk, nurse leader Dawn Klejka described early pilot efforts collecting feedback and survey information.
Jackie has also shared progress on educational video filming at Saint Vincent College, including caregiver advocacy and safe mobility topics. Those videos are being prepared for future publication. Formal teaching programs for nursing students and medical residents remain part of the longer-term vision.
The work is still taking shape through conversations, feedback, and early testing with families and healthcare professionals.
